Read to relax and to get healthy

Your family, friends and even your boss
would love you to do it.

When I was a kid, I always felt kind of stupid when my buddies talked about things that I knew nothing of.  Whether it was rugby or cars or history, made almost no difference.  Growing up with a grandpa with a huge general knowledge, made matters even worse.  I thought that his knowledge would just automatically transfer into my brain and I’ll be instantaneously the wonder kid, with all my mates hanging to my lips.

Every time I told a story, I had to exaggerate, just to try and be interesting.  Well, that backfired most of the time and I was very embarrassed when I got found out.

I hope this situation is not true for you.  And conversations like that, where we know nothing about the subject, could pop up at any occasion.  It could be at a Saturday afternoon braai, or during lunch break at work or at the next family reunion.

The Health2u newsletter will definitely help with that embarrassing conversation about health matters.  Not only will your general knowledge about health and wellness increase, your health itself will benefit from the information.  When the topic goes to the direction of water, for instance, you could give your friends a couple of handy tips to feel the health benefits of drinking water.  Or you might just add something valuable when you’re talking about running a marathon.  Who knows, your small comment could just save someone from a terrible disease.

Since my embarrassing childhood general knowledge, I’ve got two university degrees and a have an unsatisfied hunger for reading.  Now at least, I’m no longer the laugh of a conversation. I ask questions when people are talking about stuff like rugby or deep-sea fishing.  But ask me about Ferrari’s and I can talk some sense.  Or ask me about health, and there might be something interesting that will change your life.

During that boring 10 minutes when you wait for that process to run on your computer, you could quickly read the weekly newsletter. It’ll take only 3 minutes.  In the 7 minutes left, you could start to think how to implement this titbit to improve your health.

Being healthy is not complicated rocket science.  My philosophy of maintaining great health is to follow general broad guidelines.  Eat generally healthy, exercise moderately, build a positive mindset.  That’s basically it.  I even ‘cheat’ from time to time, eating unhealthy snacks, skip an exercise session or drink only coffee (no water for a whole day)!

Because I living healthy myself, I’m sure there will be some advice that you could use, just from reading the regular newsletter.  And since I’m a wellness coach, I’m working with real people with real lives and real circumstances.  And in these circumstances they still reach real results.

Take mr. M for instance.  He is a man in his eighties, and he lost his teeth not that long ago.  He had some difficulty to eat solid food.  I worked out an eating plan specifically for him, to maintain a balanced diet, but only using soft food and food supplements.  After a couple of weeks I spoke to his son, who told me that he is doing just fine. He got more energy and is more alert.

That’s real results for a very real person.  And even if you and I won’t work as closely together, while you read the newsletter, some of the things might jus rub off on you.

So, your general health knowledge will increase and your health will improve as well.  And I assume that you’ll get these benefits without any risks involved.  Ok, there might be the risk that your doctor would become angry for not visiting him so often.  But apart from that, you’ll spend no more than 11 minutes a week to read your newsletter and plan how to implement it.
