are you busy? how i cope with a full schedule.
Every one of us goes
through times where there are not enough hours in the day. And
if there were, we don’t have the energy to get the most out of
those hours. There are 101 things to do, and quickly you’re
exhausted.
Last week I send you a note that I’m about to become a parent.
Well, it happened and now I am a parent. I realised that I’m no
longer choosing my own bedtime, and I’m not privileged to set my
alarm in the morning. On top of that, I run the household, while
my wife recovers from the operation. Our domestic help comes in
only once a week. That I fit in between my normal business
activities. Oh, and I’m also working in our church four evenings
a week. Where a 14 hour work day was nothing out of the
ordinary, I now long for those days.
Before Mary-Ann was born, I knew we’re in for some hectic times.
That’s why I prepared the best I could. Here is what I’ve done
and what the effects are now. I believe that this could also
apply to your situation, no matter what it is and how busy you
are.
Boost your Nutrition
I made the mistake as a student, that I’m using energy products
for more energy. That made no difference that I know of. This
time, I’ve rather focus on nutrition rather than pure energy
products.
Along with my normal meals, I take lots of nutritional
supplements. By now you’ll know that I prefer and recommend
Herbalife’s range.
Balanced nutrition helps the body to work at its best. When all
systems is a peak performance, producing energy for our daily
tasks become very easy.
Giving your body everything it needs, is to make sure that all
systems are in good condition.
Stay Active
We all know how good you feel after a workout. When we get busy,
most people decide to kick exercise out of the routine, to get
one more hour in the day.
But I found that being active helps me to stay productive. My
mind stay clear for longer when I exercised compared to the days
I didn’t. Exercise also helps to maintain the proper functioning
of some of the systems such as blood and lymph circulation, the
lungs and heart.
Adequate Rest
Sometimes a good night’s sleep is more important than a minor
deadline. Instead of staying up all night to finish that report,
rather get to bed early and do it first thing tomorrow. Your
mind will be so much clearer in the morning.
When sleeping, try to make the most of it. There is almost
nothing worse as being tired to death and having a restless
night. Use whatever aids and routines you can if you’re having
trouble sleeping.
One change I made that made a huge difference, was to get a very
good bed. Something else I’m doing is to listen to a ‘sleep CD’
that we got to help our little girl go to sleep. It’s a matter
of seconds and I’m asleep. I almost never hear the second track
on the CD.
Since I never work on Sundays, I take a nap in the afternoon. I
found that this is a great way to be fresh at the start of the
week.
In times that I’m busy, I make sure that I get the nutrition in
that I need, get enough rest and stay active. Although I didn't
get a whole night's sleep for this whole week, I'm surprisingly
awake and energetic.
